Important: My Scope of Work
As an electrician (EC 9715), I handle all the electrical work for your air conditioner - running dedicated circuits, installing isolator switches, and connecting the power supply. The refrigerant side (gas charging, pipe work, commissioning) requires an ARCtick licence, so I partner with qualified refrigeration technicians for complete installations.
What I Handle (Electrical Work)
Dedicated Circuit Installation
Air conditioners need their own circuit - I run the cable from your switchboard with the correct breaker sizing for your unit.
Isolator Switch Installation
Required safety switch installed near the outdoor unit. This is a legal requirement for all AC installations.
Switchboard Upgrades
If your board is full or outdated, I can upgrade it to accommodate your new air conditioner safely.
Power Point for Plug-In Units
Some smaller split systems use a standard power point - I install dedicated outlets where needed.
Three-Phase Connections
Larger ducted systems often need three-phase power. I handle the connection and ensure proper load balancing.
Electrical Fault Finding
AC not turning on? Could be electrical. I diagnose and fix electrical faults in existing installations.
Air Conditioner Types I Work With
Split System AC
Single room cooling/heating. Usually needs a dedicated 20A circuit and isolator switch near the outdoor unit.
Ducted AC
Whole-home systems. Often require three-phase power and larger circuit capacity. I handle the switchboard upgrades needed.
Multi-Split Systems
Multiple indoor units, one outdoor unit. Each head may need separate wiring back to the outdoor unit.
Evaporative Coolers
Roof-mounted units. I handle the electrical connection and control wiring for the wall controller.
