LED lighting upgrades — Canning Vale and SE Perth
Halogen-to-LED swaps, new downlight installs, and outdoor lighting. Better light, lower power bills, no more bulbs burning out every few months.
Why switch to LED?
Halogen downlights run hot, burn out often, and use far more power than LEDs. A typical house with 20 halogen downlights is pulling ~1000W just on lighting. The same setup in LED is under 200W.
The swap usually pays for itself in a year or two from power savings alone — plus you stop buying replacement bulbs every few months.
Common LED work
About colour temperature
LEDs come in different colour temperatures — warm white (2700K-3000K) is similar to old incandescent bulbs, while cool white (4000K+) is brighter and more clinical.
Most people prefer warm white in living areas and bedrooms, cool white in kitchens, bathrooms and workshops. I can advise on what works where.
About old transformers
Older halogen setups often have transformers in the ceiling that step down the voltage. When swapping to LED, these usually need to be removed or bypassed — most LED downlights run directly off mains power.
I check and sort this as part of the job. No extra surprises.
